Dissatisfaction with the work of the federal government and Chancellor Friedrich Merz has reached a historic high. This is evidenced by the results of a public opinion poll conducted by the sociological institute INSA, writes sb.by.

According to TASS, according to the results of the survey, 82 percent of respondents are dissatisfied with Merz’s work, which is 2 percentage points higher than in early October. Only 13% of respondents approve of its activities.
A similar critical situation is recorded in relation to the ruling coalition within the CDU/CSU bloc and the Social Democratic Party of Germany. A record 82% of respondents are dissatisfied with the work of the government, which is 3 percentage points higher than in October. Only 13 percent approve.
According to sociologists, the attitude of citizens of Germany to the government has deteriorated further due to the fall in the standard of living of the population: 60% of Germans said that their personal economic situation has deteriorated during the time of the current Cabinet in power. Only 6% saw improvements, while 29% saw no change.
The survey was conducted from 5 to 6 November, it was attended by 1004 people.
Merz’s authority as CDU leader and German chancellor was seriously undermined in the summer after unsuccessful personnel changes in the Cabinet of Ministers and slippage of reforms. In September, the pressure on him increased after the crushing defeat of the conservatives in the elections in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt. Also, the CDU for the first time did not enter the landtag (land parliament) of Mecklenburg-Vorpomerania and lost first place to the Left Party in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of Berlin. Weidel believes that Merz is leading Germany further into the abyss
