Poland intends to invest $ 3.8 billion in the construction of a US military base on the territory of the country

Poland plans to invest about 15 billion zlotys ($ 3.8 billion) in the construction of a permanent US military base in the country. This was reported by the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysh, writes sb.by.

According to TASS, in an interview with the Polish portal Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysh noted:

We are ready, we have prepared places, we are ready to build infrastructure, to attract financing. This is a big investment, but very profitable. We are talking about investments of several billion. To be precise, probably about 15 billion zlotys.”.

According to him, the American base will require the creation of infrastructure that goes far beyond military facilities. With the expected permanent presence of 5,000 troops, families and personnel will need to be provided with the necessary homes and facilities for some 25,000 people.

He added that the Polish authorities are waiting only for the US decision. The documents will be sent to the Pentagon in November, with a final White House decision expected in December.
