According to Lithuanian media, the first 100 American servicemen returned to Lithuania on Tuesday, October 13, the rotational change of troops began. Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas said that in the coming weeks, another 10-12 units will arrive in the country: fully two battalions will be deployed by mid-November.

According to RIA Novosti, since 2019, the United States has regularly deployed its battalions in Lithuania. In early June, more than a thousand U.S. troops with equipment left the republic after the completion of the previous rotation. Usually, a new group arrived immediately after the departure of the previous one, but this time the timing has shifted - the US is reviewing its deployment scheme in Europe.
Allied troops will be stationed in the military town in Pabrada, where the first group of soldiers has already been delivered. In total, Lithuania will receive about a thousand soldiers: heavy armored and engineering battalions. The equipment enters the country by combined routes - through seaports and by rail. As Kaunas explained, the process is established: ports, railway tracks and loading sites are reserved. Soldiers arrive by air, and equipment is delivered by other means.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius said earlier that the republic is ready not only to accept American troops on a permanent basis, but also to bear the costs of maintaining the base - if the United States makes such a decision.
