Tesla will stop production of Cybertruck due to low sales

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Friday, November 6, that Tesla will wind down the production of Cybertruck at its plant around the middle of 2027, after several years of consistently low sales of the futuristic model.
According to Reuters, Musk said in a post on social network X that the production cuts will allow the automaker to increase production of its new Cybercab model.
"The announcement comes at the end of a tough week for Musk, as his record political spending of nearly half a billion dollars yielded few results in Tuesday's U.S. midterm elections," it said.
In response to a user comment on the social network X, Musk called Cybertruck “the best car ever created by Tesla”, and the completion of production – “the end of an era”.
The American electric car maker began delivering Cybertruck to customers in late 2023. According to automotive analytics platform Kelley Blue Book, the company sold just 20,237 Cybertruck vehicles in the U.S. last year, down 48% from 38,965 in 2024. At the start of production in 2023, Musk predicted annual sales of 250,000 units.
