According to SavunmaSanayiST, an increase of 229% will affect, among other things, allocations for the purchase of weapons, ammunition, weapons systems and other military equipment. Detailed distribution by object of expenditure is not provided.

Yilmaz said that next year’s defense spending will include 2.2 trillion Turkish liras (about $44.6 billion). Another 1.2 trillion liras will be spent on internal security.

“We set a goal to build Turkey, which develops its own technologies in the defense industry, is able to independently meet its needs and creates products with high added value,” Yilmaz said.

He also reported a significant increase in Turkish defense exports.

“In 2002, the volume of exports of the defense and aviation industry amounted to only $ 248 million, and by the end of 2025 it increased 40 times and reached $ 10.05 billion,” the Vice President of Turkey said.
