In Kiev introduced emergency blackouts after damage to the power facility
Klitschko recommended residents who have such an opportunity to temporarily go to relatives or friends outside the capital

In Kiev, there were emergency power outages after damage to one of the important for the city's power supply facilities. Due to interruptions, the work of the metro and part of the ground electric transport stopped, and some rooms of the Verkhovna Rada remained without light. This is reported by TASS.
Energy eliminates the effects of damage
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said that an important energy facility was damaged in Kiev. Its name and exact location were not disclosed.
“Energy are doing everything to quickly restore [the supply] of light,” Shmygal said.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine clarified that after the explosions, several elements of the power grid that provides power to Kiev were disconnected. As a result, in some areas of the capital there were power outages for a significant number of consumers. The department warned that the recovery may take some time and urged residents to use electricity sparingly.
DTEK previously announced the introduction of emergency shutdowns by order of Ukrenergo. During this regime, the usual hourly schedules do not work.
Metro and electric transport stopped
Due to the reduction of tension in the network in Kiev temporarily suspended the movement of subway trains and escalators. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
Outages also affected ground public transport. In the city there were interruptions in the work of electric transport, and the increased flow of cars and buses led to serious congestion on the roads.
According to Ukrainian media, amid problems with transport, the demand for taxis increased, which led to an increase in the cost of trips.
Interruptions affected the Verkhovna Rada
Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that the power supply disappeared in the premises where the parliamentary committees on energy and tax policy work.
The scale of blackouts in the Parliament building and the timing of the full restoration of power supply there were not officially reported.
There are problems with the water supply
Power outages have also impacted urban infrastructure. In a number of districts of Kiev recorded problems with water supply, including on the right-bank part of the city.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko previously warned of the risk of a serious communal crisis in the event of long-term disruptions to power facilities. According to AFP, he recommended residents who have the opportunity to temporarily travel to relatives or friends outside the capital.
Recovery continues
Emergency crews continue to work on damaged areas. Authorities and energy companies have urged Kievans to monitor official reports, save energy and be prepared for the fact that restoring the light supply may take time.
