“Every child recognizes himself”: the director of “Belarusfilm” Irina Tarasova – about the new children’s animated series “The Wolf”

The restless, inquisitive and funny wolf Wolf is a real mischief-maker. He does not sit still for a minute and is always ready to embark on a funny adventure, and is supported by his faithful friends - forest inhabitants. The novelty from the directors of the National Film Studio “Belarusfilm” Irina Tarasova and Elena Turova teaches children goodness and creation and raises important everyday topics.

The directors of the animated novelty have prepared six series, which are combined in a season. The plot is original: the main character, an active and curious Wolf, strives to do as much as possible. He knows the world in all its diversity, that is, he behaves like an ordinary child. Irina Tarasova got the idea from her life. The director recalled the childhood of her daughter, who wanted to be in several places at the same time. This prompted the image of the toy top, which later became a forest dweller - top. Rotating around its axis like a yule, the character moves wherever you want and gets into unusual stories: – The top is a collective image in which many children recognize themselves. He's fast, fast and enthusiastic. In the company of his friends: modest Squirrel, slow Zubrenok and hooliganistic Kabanchik. Characters are animals characteristic of Belarusian latitudes. Complement the overall picture episodic roles of mushrooms, bees, quails and other forest inhabitants.

The film has a philosophical subtext. Each series is instructive, with its own idea, which the animals convey in a language that is understandable to children. In some episodes, everyday situations are played out: for example, in an effort to help his mother find truffles, Kabanchik dug through the forest and damaged the trees, and the children set fire to the anthill, although they just played. It turns out that you can call trouble without being a villain. So, before any action you need to think about the possible unpleasant consequences. The image of Wolf was voiced by a young Russian actor Daniel Minkov – the voice of Dim Dimych in the animated series “Fixics”. Forest animal teenager immediately liked, because it looks like him in character. To be more convincing, made the timbre as childish as possible. Squirrel is directed by Elena Turova. Wise uncle Lynx was voiced by theater and film actor Anatoly Dlussky, whose character adds to the tape of everyday humor.

- My voice is the grandmother of the main character Wolf, voiced mother Zubrikha and even a few mushrooms. It's an incredibly interesting experience and totally different from what I do on television. For one of the roles, she spoke in such a low voice that she had to recover with hot tea before the air.

The process of voice acting like the actors for the opportunity to plunge into childhood. But for beginners it is also a powerful test of strength. To make it easier for artists to work, directors first wrote the sound in their own voice. On the finished "fish" worked animators. And only then, based on the image and raw behind-the-scenes sound – actors.

The creative team prepared the work for a year and eight months.
