The exhibition was opened to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the artist Varvara Bubnova, connected by a distant family connection with Pushkin and an illustrator of Japanese translations of works by Alexander Sergeevich.
The project of the State Museum of A.S. Pushkin and the Tver State United Museum [which includes the A.S. Pushkin Museum in Bernov] was called the Universe of Barbara Bubnova. The project unites three countries in which the artist’s creative activity unfolded: Russia, in which she was born, Japan, where she taught Russian literature and created Pushkin’s illustrations for three decades, and Abkhazia, where Bubnova lived since 1958 and where she bequeathed herself to be buried.
The key exhibits seen by the MK correspondent include:
1. Genuine color autolithography Bubnova to the story “The Undertaker” (1934), the tragedy “Mozart and Salieri” (1935) and “The Queen of Spades” (1937).

3. Originals of Japanese landscapes Varvara Dmitrievna - lithographs and watercolors
4. Genuine photographs illustrating Japanese and Abkhaz segments of the biography of Varvara Bubnova.
