By the beginning of the exhibition, 25 works of Repin were placed in the Yaroslavl Art Museum. Special attention of visitors will be attracted by the painting “Burlaki on the Volga”, which is also planned to be shown within the framework of the project. Before sending the painting to Yaroslavl, it was decided to briefly detain him in St. Petersburg to present the Chinese delegation.
Transportation of the painting became a special event: over the past two decades, it was taken to an exhibition in another Russian museum only once - to the Tretyakov Gallery. For Yaroslavl made an exception due to long-standing cooperation with the Russian Museum.
