Nadezhda Litvinova-Grazion said that fallen apples can be eaten, but only if they do not show signs of spoilage. You can eat fruits without mold, unpleasant smell and severe damage, but they must be thoroughly washed.

- Use apples with caution if there is a slight dent or bruise. It is better to cut the damaged place carefully with a knife, and eat the apple soon. Do not eat fruits with mold, putrefactive signs, wet areas or a pronounced unpleasant smell. Only cutting the mold, unfortunately, is not enough, since the above process can spread much deeper. If the apple has no signs of spoilage, but has been lying on the ground for a long time, it is better to heat it. For example, use for compote or baking. Such fruits are not worth it, the expert added.
