In two days, border guards stopped two attempts to illegally import dangerous narcotic drugs into Belarus. This was reported in the State Border Committee, writes sb.by.

The first incident occurred on October 13. The 51-year-old Russian citizen, permanently residing in Belgium, was travelling from Poland to Belarus by minibus. During the search of a foreigner in the pockets of jeans found blisters with tablets "Tramadol" - only 108 pieces. This drug is included in the Republican list of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors subject to state control. The detainee explained that he transported the pills exclusively for personal use. Proceedings are being conducted on this fact.
The next day, October 14, a 71-year-old Russian followed in a passenger car to Belarus. In a special vest with pockets under the outer clothes, border guards found 570 blisters with Morphin and 14 with Zolpidem. He also said he was carrying pills for personal use. Identified potent drugs were transferred to customs officials. Further verification is under way.
Article 328-1 (Illegal cross-border movement of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their precursors or analogues) The Criminal Code of Belarus provides for criminal liability up to imprisonment for up to 12 years.
