The head of the district in the Tver region was detained on suspicion of receiving a bribe

According to the materials of the FSB in the Tver region, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the region initiated a criminal case against the head of the Udomel municipal district. The head of the investigative department for especially important cases investigates the information received about the crime provided for by Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe in an especially large amount).

According to the investigation, in the period from July 2024 to October 2026, the suspect, holding the post of head of the district, received from contractors performing work under municipal contracts, illegal property services in the amount of at least 3.4 million rubles.

The head of the district was detained by employees of the regional investigation department; operational support is provided by FSB officers in the Tver region. Currently, the Investigative Committee conducts the necessary investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the case.

"At present, the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided," the prosecutor's office of the Tver region said.
