The car of a resident of the Tver region was seized for repeated driving under the influence

In the Toropetsk district court considered a criminal case against a resident of the Tver region, accused of drunk driving a car, having a conviction for a similar crime.

The press service of the court said that in February 2025, the defendant was found guilty of driving a car being a person in a state of intoxication and previously subjected to administrative punishment for a similar act (part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In June 2026, the man was again drunk driving and was stopped by traffic police. The defendant in the court session fully admitted guilt in the commission of the incriminated crime and repented of what he had done.

The court appointed the convicted person one year of restriction of freedom and for 2.5 years deprived of the right to engage in activities related to transport management. The defendant's car was confiscated into state property.

The sentence has entered into force.
