Ulyanovsk family sued the airline more than 126 thousand rubles for a disrupted trip
The Ulyanovsk regional court rejected the complaint of Aeroflot and upheld the decision to recover from the airline more than 126 thousand rubles in favor of passengers

The Ulyanovsk regional court upheld the decision to recover from the air carrier more than 126 thousand rubles in favor of passengers. The reason for the proceedings was the canceled flight to Moscow and the subsequent cancellation of return tickets.
The family was going to go to the capital so that her daughter could take part in the All-Russian Olympiad in the Russian language. For the trip, parents purchased air tickets on the route Ulyanovsk - Moscow - Ulyanovsk.
However, the flight was canceled due to the Carpet signal, which operated until 12:50. Passengers were offered to fly the next day, but in this case the schoolgirl did not have time for the Olympics. The family had to buy their own train tickets.
Later, the carrier unilaterally canceled the return flight. At the same time, the conditions of the tickets did not provide for the obligation to additionally confirm the intention to use the flight.
The railway district court of Ulyanovsk satisfied the demands of passengers. The airline tried to challenge the decision, citing force majeure circumstances.
However, the regional court dismissed the complaint. The carrier did not provide evidence that it was impossible to operate the flight after the restrictions were lifted. The refusal of the family from the initial flight was recognized as forced, and the cancellation of return tickets was illegal.
