A criminal case has been sent to the court against a 42-year-old resident of Mozyr, who is accused of violating the safety rules of construction work, the Frunze district prosecutor’s office told the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency.

Since January 2024, the accused worked as a master of construction and installation works at one of the state-owned enterprises and was an official endowed with organizational, administrative and administrative duties. There were about 30 people under his command.

In April 2026, the brigade carried out work on the construction of multi-apartment residential development in the street quarter. Pritytsky - D. Martsinkevich Street. The builders were on the 19th floor and were engaged in the installation and reinforcement of formwork and floor slabs. The defendant was nearby and oversaw the trial.

There was only one slinger in their brigade. In order to speed up the process, his duties were sometimes performed by a fitter at the bottom. According to safety regulations, he was not allowed to do this because he did not have the appropriate security clearance.

On April 13, the fitter, once again performing slinging work, climbed onto the metal formwork shield and was sandwiched between him and industrial equipment. From his injuries 38-year-old worker died on the spot. He is known to have a wife and a young son.

Subsequently, a criminal case was opened against the foreman.

- The accused has a higher education, he is married, he has two daughters on a dependent basis, he has not previously been brought to criminal responsibility, said Andrei Serbun, deputy prosecutor of the Frunze district. He was charged with violating the safety rules of construction works, the rules of operation of machines and mechanisms in the production of such works, which resulted in the death of a person through negligence, that is, in committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 303 of the Criminal Code. The citizen fully admitted his guilt.

A preventive measure was applied against the accused in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior.
