Iran says U.S. threat to use 'mother of all bombs'
Mehrdad Ehlaki said Tehran was fully prepared for a possible air attack by Washington and warned of large-scale losses among the US military in the event of an escalation of the conflict.

Iranian Defense Minister Mehrdad Ehlaki said Tehran was fully prepared for a possible strike by the United States and had already prepared a set of retaliatory steps in case Washington used a super-powerful “mother of all bombs.”.
Earlier, CNN, which relied on data from the Pentagon, reported that with a new round of escalation and attacks on Iran, the United States could use its main non-nuclear weapons, known as the “mother of all bombs.”.
“We have thought through the necessary measures on this issue and are calm. We are confidently doing our job, ILNA quoted the minister as saying.
The head of the Ministry of Defense noted that it is more appropriate for the White House to take care of the safe evacuation of its contingent from the Middle East. He warned that if Washington decides to bomb, the American leadership will have to count how many of their soldiers will return home in coffins.
In conclusion, Ehlaki stressed that the Pentagon has not yet risked using these weapons solely for fear of facing a crushing and unpredictable response from the Islamic Republic.
