Open dialogue in the context of global challenges. Aleynik meets with UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus

Belarus and the UN country team maintain a high level of mutual understanding and trust. This was noted by the Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic, the national coordinator for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals Sergey Aleynik at a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Belarus Rasul Bagirov.

The dialogue became a good opportunity to return to a substantive discussion of multifaceted interaction, which is successfully developing despite the objective political difficulties and global challenges facing the international community today.

Sergey Aleynik noted at the meeting: “Despite the contradictions that hinder the normal sustainable development of states and conflict prevention, Belarus and the UN country team maintain a high level of mutual understanding and trust.”.

The interlocutors in detail compared the hours for the implementation of the Cooperation Framework Program for 2026-2030, which covers a large-scale set of joint events.

Sergey Aleynik expressed gratitude to the UN for constructive assistance and noted the significant success of our country: today the level of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Belarus exceeds 82%, and the country is confidently moving towards the fullest possible indicators by 2030. These achievements are organically woven into national strategic documents – the National Strategy for Sustainable Development until 2040 and the priorities identified at the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.

In turn, Rasul Bagirov confirmed his commitment to close partnership, noting the principled position and personal involvement of the Belarusian side. The UN Resident Coordinator shared his work plans by the end of the year, focusing on regional development projects, support for the family and socially responsible business initiatives. The parties confirmed their mutual readiness to continue the successful practice of implementing SDG activities covering each area of our country.
