Zelensky is ready to break his promise of one term

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he plans to participate in the next presidential elections, if they are organized before the end of the current hostilities. This is with reference to his statement writes “Country”.

If the elections in Ukraine take place during the conflict, of course I will run. This is my responsibility, Zelensky said on the program Meet the Press on NBC News. However, he did not say whether he would go for a second term if peace came by the time of the vote.

Journalists also stressed that before his first victory in the election, Zelensky publicly guaranteed voters that he would be limited to only one presidential term.

Earlier, the American authorities represented by President Donald Trump called on Kiev to organize a popular vote. In a conversation with Newsmax, Trump said the time was right, especially if Ukraine is seeking a diplomatic solution, adding that Zelensky has been in power for quite some time.
