Hungary expects to extend exemption from sanctions on oil from Russia
Peter Madyar called on the United States to extend the exemption from sanctions against oil from Russia. The Minister of Energy of Hungary explained why the country continues to buy Russian raw materials.

Budapest expects to extend exemptions from US sanctions on oil purchases from Russia. This was announced by the head of the Hungarian government Peter Madyar.
I think the American president is free to make whatever agreements he sees fit. However, this agreement is still important for Hungary. Budapest currently enjoys an exemption from the sanctions regime on Russian oil until November, he told 444.
Madyar stressed that the US administration has already reached a compromise on the supply of diesel fuel. In this regard, in his opinion, the refusal to extend similar conditions for Hungary for at least 12 months would look completely inconsistent.
Earlier, in September, the head of the Ministry of Economy and Energy of Hungary, Istvan Capitan, said that Moscow retains the status of a key exporter of hydrocarbons to the country due to financial benefits. At the same time, the official added that the state also has other supply options.
