Girl driver of the capital bus: the longer the flight, the more imperceptible the time passes

In Belarus, the Day of the motorist and road worker is celebrated on October 25. For the driver Lyudmila Drachan, the bus has long been almost a family member. The girl told about her work and special love for the 91st route in an interview with the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency.

Drachan came to work as a driver almost six years ago. Started with a tram, and then switched to the bus - after her husband, who also works at the wheel.

- A real family affair! How has your relationship changed?

- At home, we got even closer. If before we were united primarily by family and life, now there are common professional themes. We discuss routes, I often ask my husband about the arrangement and repair of the bus - he knows a lot about this. There is more mutual understanding, respect for each other’s work and the time we spend together, Drachan said.

Point of departure - dispatch station on the street. Kalinovsky. Ludmila started the bus, and we slowly started to go.

On the way, the driver says that during the day can change several directions.

- It could be the 194s and 131s. And sometimes you get as many as several combined routes, explains L. Drachan. I really like the 91st. It is long, the circle takes more than two hours, and the bus passes almost across the city. From Kalinovsky Street we go to Independence Avenue, then go to Nemiga, drive a little along it, then along Winners Avenue and return back. The longer the flight, the more imperceptible the working time passes, the girl said.

Meanwhile, the first passengers at the stop shake off their umbrellas and enter the cabin. Some immediately reach for the driver for coupons. Lyudmila smiles, waits for the next stop and issues a ticket.

The bus is already turning to the station. "East" and continues to move on pr. Independence. When asked whether it is boring behind the wheel, Lyudmila assures that there is no time to languish from idleness - work requires constant attention.

- Despite the fact that we, drivers, sit in a chair, we are always on the move. You need to manage the bus, issue tickets to passengers, monitor the traffic situation. We are constantly on guard, so it will not be possible to completely relax behind the wheel, the driver explained.

Besides, Lyudmila is very sociable. She addresses people with a smile, and even those who have had a bad day often reciprocate with her.

Passengers wish a good day, make compliments, and when buying a ticket, they can joke: “For me everything, we’re walking!” Sometimes they even treat something, including apples, the heroine shared.

Lyudmila smoothly brings the bus to each stop, but even the familiar road opens up every day in a new way.

- The same route can be perceived in completely different ways. It all depends on the weather, the number of passengers, the day of the week and even your own mood.

Meanwhile, there are more and more people in the salon. As long as the weather is favorable to travel and nothing complicates the movement, the bus goes along the route as usual.

- Particular difficulties arise in bad weather. Heavy snowfalls turn roads into a real off-road, and during showers water accumulates, and it becomes difficult to move. In winter, frosts and snowdrifts, said Lyudmila.

The heroine keeps a smile even in cloudy weather and knows how to find an approach to people. No less warm Lyudmila refers to his bus, which has long been more than just a working transport for the girl.

- It’s been three years since I worked on this car. I love her very much, honestly. I spend more time on the bus than I do at home, so he really feels like a family member. The car is reliable, good. I even talk to her, the driver laughed. I put a lot of energy and soul into it, I try to monitor both the appearance and the technical condition.
