Penza explained whether the refusal of sugar is dangerous
For most people without health problems, avoiding added sugar is not a threat

For most people without health problems, avoiding added sugar is not a threat. This was reported by gastroenterologist Yevgeny Belousov.
The doctor warned: do not confuse the rejection of sweets with the rejection of carbohydrates. If a person does not eat sweets, cakes and sugary drinks, but gets carbohydrates from cereals, potatoes, legumes, vegetables and fruits, no sugar deficiency will occur.
Moreover, limiting sweets helps to keep calorie content under control, reduces appetite jumps and makes the taste of familiar foods brighter.
However, psychologically, the ban on sweets is often harder than physiologically. When chocolate becomes a “forbidden product,” it takes up more space. Hence the familiar scenario: a few days of strict restrictions, then a breakdown and guilt.
At the same time, not everyone needs to completely eliminate sugar. The doctor may recommend severe restrictions for diabetes, metabolic disorders and other diseases. But even then it is not about the complete rejection of all sugars and carbohydrates, but about a specific therapeutic strategy.
