About 10% of Stavropol buses will be converted to methane
In Stavropol on methane plan to transfer about 10% of buses

In Stavropol, about 10% of buses are planned to be transferred to methane. State support will continue to stimulate the consumption of gas-engine fuel: from 2021, within the framework of the regional state program “Development of Energy, Industry and Communications”, the region annually receives a subsidy from the federal budget to compensate for part of the costs of building gas stations and installing gas equipment on cars.
The Ministry of Energy, Industry and Communications of the Stavropol Territory noted that the industry is strategic for the region: natural gas as a motor fuel is environmentally friendly. In addition, it is a more economical solution to the current problems in the fuel market. In the region, almost nine thousand cars use compressed gas, and public transport passes to methane - about 10% of buses. To further expand the park, the use of natural gas by specialized municipal, road and agricultural machinery will be considered.
The work on behalf of the governor will be carried out with relevant departments, municipalities and the operator of the USG. The main directions are the conversion of cars to methane and the development of infrastructure for their maintenance.
The gas engine fuel market in Stavropol has been developing for many years. Today, natural gas transport is served by 28 automobile gas filling compressor stations on highways and in cities. Over the past five years, 1,300 vehicles have been converted, and methane consumption has increased almost 2.5 times since 2014, from 21.4 to 51.6 million cubic meters. At the end of last year, the Stavropol region entered the top 10 regions and became the leader in the NCFD in this indicator.
Earlier it was reported that Vladimirov set the task to make the Stavropol region a leader in gas engine fuel.
