Russian bakers complained about the lack of palm oil
The National Union of Bakery sent an appeal to the Federal Antimonopoly Service with a request to check pricing on the fat and oil market

The National Union of Bakery sent an appeal to the Federal Antimonopoly Service with a request to check the pricing on the fat and oil market. This writes “Kommersant” with reference to the letter of the organization.
According to the document, in August, the cost of certain types of margarine for producers increased by 15-20% compared to July values. At the same time, the NCC expects that in September products will rise in price by another 30%, and milk fat substitutes can add up to 60% in price. Some companies have already received notifications from suppliers about the upcoming increase.
The President of the Russian Union of bakers Dmitry Semenov noted that over the past months, margarine has risen on average by 30%. In his opinion, this may be due to a decrease in the number of suppliers in the market. One of the reasons for the trend, experts call a sharp decline in the supply of palm oil to Russia from Indonesia and Malaysia. A drone attack on the port of Taman on July 30 knocked out a key Russian terminal for transshipment of this type of product, which led to a shortage of raw materials and a reduction in confectionery cheese stocks.
The increase in prices for beef and poultry meat was reported by the National Meat Association. At the same time, experts recorded a decrease in the cost of pork.
