It became known how the construction of a tunnel in Kirov is progressing

Together with representatives of the regional authorities, the object was visited by members of the public council under the regional Ministry of Transport to monitor the progress of the key construction project.

The general contractor of the large-scale project is the company "Avtoban" - one of the leading road construction holdings of the country, specializing in the construction and reconstruction of expressways.

Now the specialists of the Avtoban Most division have already fully prepared the access roads to the starting and receiving pits. The roadway was formed, and the laying of the finish layer of asphalt concrete was postponed to the next year.

In parallel, the builders continue work on the northern section of the ramp part of the tunnel. The facility has already completed the device of concrete base and waterproofing, now the reinforcement of structures.

All concrete works at this site are scheduled to be completed by November 15.

Considerable attention is paid to the associated infrastructure.

Local treatment plants are being equipped on the territory of the future facility: builders have installed 4 special capacities, to which engineering networks will be connected throughout November.

In addition, all 4 fire tanks are fully installed.

According to the head of the site of the company "Avtoban Most" Andrey Berestov, it is expected to complete monolithic work under the railway tracks in May 2027. For the summer season, the improvement and equipment of the facility will remain: laying lighting and communication lines, applying road markings and installing signs.

The head of the regional Ministry of transport Artem Drachkov confirmed that the construction is carried out in strict accordance with the established schedule.

The main array of works is scheduled for 2026, and during 2027, specialists will carry out commissioning activities, install engineering systems, complete the arrangement and put the structure into operation.

Under the terms of the state contract, it is required to hand over the object before 15.12.2027, but the contractor expects to complete the construction ahead of schedule - in the III quarter of 2027.

The total length of the new road section will be 740.3 m, while the length of the closed tunnel part will be 36.3 m.

The carriageway will be 4-lane, which will unload the transport network and increase the capacity of the direction. For pedestrians, there are 3.5 m wide sidewalks in the tunnel.
