The project became the winner of the third season of the competition of initiatives of parent communities of the Russian Society “Knowledge”, which is held within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children”. In total, more than seven thousand applications from 88 regions of Russia were received, and 395 initiatives received support. Among them was the Penza Lyceum project.
Eco-laboratory is designed for children aged 11 to 14 years and their parents. Participants will jointly plant beds and take care of plants. The organizers hope that the classes will help students not only master practical skills of growing crops, but also learn to work in a team, show responsibility and see the results of joint work.
Chairman of the Parent Committee Yulia Kuznetsova said that the idea of creating a greenhouse arose during the discussion of educational work with children.
“Our parents’ committee and I consulted and decided that lately we have been developing children’s intellectual abilities very often and do not care about their labor education at all. In this regard, we decided that the greenhouse will be a great help for our children, she said.
A separate area of the project is early professional orientation. The partners of the lyceum were Penza Greenhouse Plant JSC, Penza State Agrarian University and the Center for Psychological, Pedagogical, Medical and Social Assistance of the Penza Region. Representatives of organizations share their experience with students and introduce them to the possibilities of professional development in agriculture and biotechnology.
Rector of Penza State Agrarian University Oleg Kukharev stressed that the greenhouse will help children to gain additional knowledge in school subjects and join the work.
The work of the eco-laboratory began in September. Thematic master classes, career-oriented meetings and parental Saturdays are already organized for participants. These activities are also aimed at strengthening relations between children and parents and creating a comfortable educational environment.
