In Zhodino, the project to transfer city bus routes to electric transport is being completed, by the end of the year its fleet will be replenished with four new electric buses. This was told by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee – Head of the Department of Road Transport Activities and Production of the Committee for Architecture and Construction of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Molofey, BelTA writes.

In the Minsk region, the implementation of a pilot project launched in 2023 to provide electric transport to the city of Zhodino is being completed.
" In 2024, the city received 14 electric buses, all of which are now fully operational. However, given the development of the transport network of the city, the construction of housing in neighborhoods, the need to increase the number of urban transport is growing. Therefore, it is planned that by the end of the year Zhodino will receive four more units of electric transport. Thus, 18 electric buses will run in the city, said Alexander Molofey.
During the creation of the electric transport infrastructure in Zhodino, nine charging stations were built, which completely cover the need: seven stations operate at the production base of the fleet No. 18 and two at the bus station.
After Zhodino, the electrification of transport will begin in the satellite cities of Smolevichi and Fanipol.
According to Denis Gaishun, First Deputy General Director and Chief Engineer of Minoblavtotrans, the project to transfer the above satellite cities to electric transport is planned for 2026-2027. Five electric buses will be delivered by the end of the year. However, they will work on suburban routes.
“Three units will be involved at the beginning of the pilot operation on the Minsk-Smolevichi route, two on the Minsk-Fanipol route. We plan to launch them this year. These electric buses are created specifically for suburban routes and differ in technical characteristics from urban ones. For them, the possibility of super-fast charging will be realized: in the intervals between flights, this will take only 10-15 minutes, Denis Gaishun said.
In the future, it is planned to build a base in Smolevichy equipped with night charging stations and a pantograph-type station. It will be located near the street 50 years of October, where a new bus station was built.
As for Fanipol, by the end of next year, it is planned to use 15 electric buses that will run between Minsk and its satellite city, as well as two on city routes.
