French basketball player “Orlando Magic” Noah Penda became the hero of a curious episode in the pre-season match of the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers (132:116), writes L’Equipe.
In the second quarter, 21-year-old Penda, gaining speed, jumped out and with both hands sent the ball into the ring.
However, the ball, while still inside the net, bounced the Frenchman hanging on the ring in the face and again fell into the basket. The hit was not counted because of the touch.
Penda made his debut for Orlando last season, in 59 regular-season games on his score of 3.8 points.
The new NBA season starts on October 20.
