European champion 2020 skater Alena Kostornaya returned to training after undergoing surgery. She posted this on Instagram (owned by Meta, the company is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

In September, the 23-year-old skater revealed she had shoulder surgery in August and was undergoing "a challenging and lengthy recovery.".
Kostornaya is the European champion and the winner of the Grand Prix final in the 2019/20 season in singles skating.
In 2023, Kostornaya switched to pair skating and began to perform with Georgy Kunitz. Then they got married, and in the autumn of 2025 the couple had a son.
