Baltika beat Wings of the Soviets in the match of the Cup of Russia with Fan ID

Kaliningrad “Baltika” on the road won the Samara “Wings of the Soviets” in the match of the fourth round of the group stage of the Fonbet Cup of Russia. The meeting at the Solidarity Samara Arena ended with the score 2: 0.

Among the winners, goals were scored by Egor Golinkov (10th minute) and Ilya Kirsh (77).

This match was one of the first meetings in the Russian Cup after the introduction of Fan ID at the tournament. Previously, Fan ID was a mandatory document for visiting football matches of the Russian championship, the Cup finals and the Super Cup. The system has been in operation since the middle of the 2022/23 season and has been boycotted by a number of major fan associations from leading clubs.

Baltika with 6 points takes second place in Group C, Wings of the Soviets with the same number of points are located on the third line. Zenit leads (8 points), Makhachkala Dynamo closes the table (1 point).

In the fifth round, Baltika will play at home against Zenit, and Wings of the Soviets against Dynamo Makhachkala. Both meetings will be held on October 29.

In the playoffs will be three teams from the group: the two best – in the quarterfinals of the “Road of the RPL”, the third – in the playoffs “Road of the regions”.

The current winner of the Cup of Russia – Moscow “Spartak”. In the Superfinal of the last draw, Muscovites beat Krasnodar in a penalty shootout with a score of 4: 3 (main time is 1: 1).
