Scheduled for the end of October in Riyadh, the exhibition tennis “Tournament of the six kings” (Six Kings Slam) moved to December 27, said the organizers in the social network X.
The tournament was scheduled to begin on October 21. Its participants should be Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alkaras, Novak Djokovic, Alex de Minor, Taylor Fritz and replace Yannick Sinner Lerner Tien.
Organisers explained that the decision was made after evaluating "organizational and logistical complexities" and their potential impact on viewers' impressions.
The tournament will be held for the third time, its winner will receive $ 6 million.
Since the beginning of October, Yemen’s Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement has been attacking Saudi airports, including airstrikes on Riyadh’s international airport.
The military action affected sporting events in the kingdom. In particular, the stage of the World Rally Championship was canceled, the organizers of Dakar began to think about an alternative route, and the match of the local “An-Nasra”, for which Cristiano Ronaldo plays, began on October 12 with an hour late due to missile alarm.
