FIFA postpones esports World Cup final in Jeddah amid Houthi attacks
The tournament, which was scheduled to host the Rocket League, eFootball on consoles and eFootball Mobile World Championships, was scheduled to begin on October 16. It was postponed due to the situation in the region and logistical problems

FIFA and the Saudi eSports Federation have decided to postpone the FIFAe Finals tournament, which was due to start in Jeddah on October 16. Organizers said the decision was made “after assessing recent developments in the region and their impact on logistics.”.
New dates will be announced later.
FIFAe Finals will include the Rocket League, eFootball on consoles and eFootball Mobile.
On Saturday, Japan and Brazil withdrew their esports teams from the tournament, Reuters reported.
The changes to the tournaments come amid Houthi attacks on Saudi airports, including in Riyadh, and facilities of the oil company Saudi Aramco.
The organizers postponed for two months the exhibition tennis “Tournament of the Six Kings”, which was to be held in October in Riyadh with the participation of Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alkaras.
The Asian Football Confederation said it was ready to consider moving the Asian Cup, due to start in January in Saudi Arabia, to 2028.
