Infantino apologized for the controversial project of FIFA on the sale of rights to the world Cup
Gianni Infantino apologises for errors in communication and consultation on the FIFA Forward Enterprise project, which the federation abandoned a few months earlier

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has apologized to the FIFA Council for the mistakes made during the work on the controversial project FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), which the federation abandoned a few months earlier. This is reported by the BBC from the meeting of the FIFA Council in Zurich.
“First of all, I apologize for the mistakes we made in the communication and consultation process on the FFE project, which led to many consequences. But it is important to remember that this was only a proposal, not an already resolved issue. It was actually aimed at allowing FIFA to invest more in our member associations rather than replacing support from existing resources, Infantino said.
FIFA Vice President Debbie Hewitt said many of the Council's questions remained unanswered. "This person has to answer these questions and if he doesn't answer now, he is not fit to be president of FIFA," she added.
The FFE proposed the creation of a commercial subsidiary to sell up to 20% of FIFA tournament rights to private investors in order to raise $ 4.2 billion. It has drawn fierce criticism from UEFA and all 55 European federations, which have threatened to boycott the World Cup. After that, Infantino withdrew the initiative.
