The match ended 1-0. Prior to this meeting, Lada was defeated in all 21 face-to-face matches with SKA in league history
Togliatti Lada defeated St. Petersburg SKA in the match of the regular championship Fonbet KHL. The meeting ended with the score 1: 0.
In the 22nd minute, Nikolai Makarov scored the only puck.
“Lada” for the first time in the history of the league beat St. Petersburg. Prior to this meeting, the team last beat SKA back on January 23, 2008 with a score of 4:0 in the Super League. Since the creation of the KHL in 2008, Lada has suffered 21 consecutive defeats in face-to-face matches with the St. Petersburg team.
At the same time, Lada did not participate in nine KHL seasons. The first break (2010-2014) was caused by financial and rental problems. The second, longer one (2018-2023), is related to the exclusion of the team in the rating, which took into account sports and economic indicators.
For SKA, this match was also the 1300th in the history of the league. And Lada interrupted a series of ten defeats, having won the first victory since September 14 (4: 2 over Dynamo Minsk).
Togliatti scored eight points in 16 matches, bypassed Sochi and now occupy tenth place in the West. SKA suffered the fifth defeat in a row, having 17 points after 15 meetings and located on the eighth line of the Western Conference.
In the next match, Lada will host Dynamo Moscow on October 18, and SKA will meet with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg on October 20 at home.
