FIFA will assess the peace prize, which has so far been given only to trump

FIFA's Committee on Social Responsibility in Football has been tasked with assessing the "FIFA Peace Prize," FIFA said in a press release following a meeting of the organization's council.
The decision on the award will be made at the next meeting of the Council in December 2026.
FIFA established the "Peace Prize" without council approval a month before it was presented to US President Donald Trump on December 5, 2025.
Trump received the award from FIFA President Gianni Infantino just weeks after he was denied the Nobel Peace Prize.
Human rights activists and the football community have criticised the FIFA Peace Prize for its opaque voting system, lack of nominees and a jury.
The FIFA Peace Prize is awarded to “people who have taken exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace and thereby unite people around the world.”.
