FIFA will review disciplinary procedures after the scandal at the world Cup-2026
FIFA will review the rules of punishment after the scandal with Balogun, who was allowed to play in the 1/8 finals of the world Cup after a red card. ESPN says FIFA could ban one-match suspensions

FIFA's Judiciary Committee will review the organization's disciplinary procedures following a decision on U.S. forward Folarin Balogun, who has been suspended from mandatory World Cup suspension. This is reported in the release of FIFA following the meeting of the Council of the organization.
The results will be discussed at the next council meeting in December.
Balogun was not supposed to play against Belgium in the 1/8 finals because of a previously received red card. However, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee suspended his suspension, imposing a probationary period of one year. Because of Balogun, the head of FIFA Gianni Infantino called US President Donald Trump.
Trump said he did not tell Infantino what to do, and the head of FIFA indicated that the disciplinary committee acted independently.
ESPN, citing sources in FIFA, wrote that the rules will be proposed to amend, prohibiting in the future the abolition of automatic suspensions for one match.
