Eurovision winner slams Ronaldo with phrase about demigod syndrome
Ronaldo left Portugal's national team on September 30. Singer Salvador Sobral says it's hard for Ronaldo to understand that the coach decides who goes on and who doesn't

Portuguese singer and winner of Eurovision-2017 Salvador Sobral accused forward Cristiano Ronaldo of “demigod syndrome” for his departure from the disposition of the national team, cites his words A Bola.
“That is his problem: he has demigod syndrome. It's hard for him to understand things like this: that the coach decides who gets out and who doesn't. And then people mix everything up - thanks to Ronaldo and the fact that now he can't play like he used to. Already at the World Cup it was as The Guardian wrote: ten players and one statue, Sobral said.
Ronaldo left the national team on September 30. This happened due to a conflict with the head coach of the national team Georges Jesouch. In the match of the League of Nations (2: 1) with Norway for the first time in a long time he remained on the bench. 30 minutes before the end, Jesos sent Ronaldo to warm up, but, to the player’s surprise, he did not release him on the field.
Later, the player published a detailed statement in which he told the details of the conflict with the coach and accused him of twice violating this word. He has previously expressed hope that the country will support him amid the conflict with Ronaldo, and said he is ready to return the player to the team if he wants. However, he said he would not apologize for what happened.
On October 10, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced Ronaldo's suspension, disciplinary proceedings were instituted, the footballer faces a suspension of up to six months and a fine of €500 to €1,000.
Ronaldo is a five-time winner of the Golden Ball, the best scorer in the history of football, national teams, the European Championship, the Champions League, the club world championship. With Portugal, he won the European Championship (2016) and the Nations League (2019, 2025).
He won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017. He performed the song "Amar pelos dois" ("Love for two").
