Sky Sports has learned that Beckham could become a FIFA presidential candidate
According to the channel, European federations are considering Beckham as a replacement for Infantino as president of FIFA. Elections will be held in March 2027

Former England captain David Beckham may become a candidate for president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), SkySport Deutschland reports.
According to the channel, European federations, including UEFA, are looking for an alternative to the current head of FIFA Gianni Infantino, who intends to be re-elected for another term. Among the candidates discussed, Beckham stands out the most.
As SkySport Deutschland points out, the 51-year-old Beckham has the necessary international fame and extensive connections in football, as well as experience in managing the Inter Miami club (since 2018 he is a co-owner), for which the eight-time winner of the Golden Ball, Argentine Lionel Messi, acts. He has also publicly criticized FIFA’s corruption scandals.
Beckham finished his football career in 2013. He played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG, Milan and Los Angeles Galaxy, as well as won the championships of England (six times), Spain, France and became the winner of the Champions League. He played 115 games for the national team and was captain for six years.
The FIFA presidential election will take place in March 2027. Candidates can submit their applications until November 18. Infantino has led FIFA since 2016.
Earlier, several European federations withdrew their support for Infantino in the upcoming elections. The reason was the plans of FIFA to sell part of the commercial rights to the World Cup to external investors, which the organization had to give up amid the scandal. Infantino later apologized for the mistakes. UEFA spoke about plans to find an alternative candidate together with partner confederations.
