Dismissed leader of the KHL Razin replaced Larionov at the head of SKA
SKA on Sunday announced the dismissal of Larionov, and Metallurg — about the departure of Razin. The best coach of the KHL 2024 headed the St. Petersburg club, signing a contract for two seasons
Andrei Razin became the new head coach of the St. Petersburg SKA instead of Igor Larionov, according to the website of the KHL team.
The contract is for two seasons. The next match against Yekaterinburg “Automobilist” on October 20, SKA will hold already under the leadership of Razin.
Earlier on Sunday, Magnitogorsk Metallurg reported parting with Razin, who has been suspended since the beginning of October due to a conflict with players. Razin worked at Metallurg since 2023, in 2024 led the club to the Gagarin Cup and was recognized as the best coach of the league, in 2025 won the regular championship with Magnitogorsk and reached the semifinals of the playoffs.
SKA on Sunday announced the dismissal of Larionov, with whom the team lost five games in a row.
SKA is eighth in the Western Conference, having won eight of 15 matches at the start of the season.
