Lithuania was deprived of the stage of the world Cup in pentathlon for the exclusion of Russians
The head of the Lithuanian federation admitted that UIPM repeatedly asked about the plans of the organizers in relation to Russians and Belarusians. As a result, the international federation canceled the World Cup stage in Kaunas

Lithuania, by decision of the International Union of Modern Pentathlon (UIPM), lost the right to hold the World Cup stage in 2027 due to the refusal to allow Russians and Belarusians, Sportas24 reports, citing a corresponding letter from UIPM.
The competition was to be held in Kaunas. The UIPM has officially announced the revocation of the competition.
President of the Lithuanian Modern Pentathlon Federation Justinas Kinderis admitted that the news was not a complete surprise, because the UIPM leadership has repeatedly asked how the organizers intend to deal with the Russians and Belarusians. At the same time, Kinderis said that he experienced anger and disappointment.
Kinderis said Lithuania hoped for a “simple human attitude” from UIPM.
This year, the Russians performed with national symbols at the European Championships (taken gold, silver and bronze) and the world (gold and three silver), becoming second in the medal standings at both tournaments.
