Gymnasts from Russia were sent to a spa for free because of bedbugs in the room at the World Cup
Coach Ivan Gaponenko at the World Cup in Rotterdam was first placed in the room in which he found bedbugs, and then as compensation for the whole team made a free visit to the spa in the hotel until the end of the tournament

All members of the Russian delegation who settled in the official hotel of the World Gymnastics Championship in Rotterdam were allowed to visit the hotel spa for free. This was reported by the coach of the national team Ivan Gaponenko.
Last week, Gaponenko said that he was put in a room with bedbugs at the World Cup. According to the coach, after the complaint, he was given another number and offered to take things to the dry cleaner.
After I told about finding bedbugs in my bed, I was moved to another room. And as compensation for our entire team, the male and female staff, staff and doctors, made a free visit to the spa in the hotel until the end of the competition, said Gaponenko.
According to Gaponenko, the athletes did not have time to go there yet, but after the competition they will definitely visit the spa.
Gaponenko noted that he was very surprised by everything that happened to him. It’s like Hilton, a high-end hotel chain, and bed bugs were the only one in my room. And I didn’t have one bed bug, but a whole apiary of these bedbugs. Perhaps, before my arrival, the room was not cleaned, and the one who lived in it in front of me brought these bedbugs on himself, the coach added.
The World Cup runs until October 25. Russian gymnasts perform at the tournament without national symbols. On the eve of the men’s team won silver in the team tournament and received a license to participate in the Olympics-2028.
