FIS will not transfer the World Cup from Sweden in case of refusal of visas to Russian skiers
The international federation said it was not responsible in case of refusal of a visa or entry to any person who received the right to participate in the tournament

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) will not move the World Cup from Sweden if Russian athletes are denied entry visas. This was reported by Match TV in the press service of FIS.
The World Ski Championships kick off in Falun in late February 2027. Swedish Migration Minister Johan Forsell said this week that the government was studying the legal grounds for denying Russian and Belarusian athletes visas to participate in the tournament.
“The FIS policy on individual neutral athletes clearly states that regardless of eligibility, the visa rules and entry procedures established by the host country remain in force and are determined exclusively by that country,” the FIS said.
The FIS is not responsible in the event of a visa or entry denial to any person eligible to participate in the tournament.
FIS admits Russians to international competitions in neutral status. Several dozen Russian athletes have already received it. The relevant restrictions were introduced after the start of the military operation in Ukraine.
