The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) announced on its website that Moscow will host the World Cup in 2030.

“All the applications we received were excellent and we are confident that the championships in these countries will be a great success,” said IWF Secretary General Jose Quiñones.

In June, the IWF Executive Committee decided to allow Russian athletes to participate in international competitions in all age categories without any restrictions – as part of the national team, under the flag and with the Russian anthem.

Since June 2025, the Russian Weightlifting Federation (FTAR) is headed by Alexander Vinokurov.
