The Russian Football Union (RFU) with the support of the Russian Sports Foundation will hold the All-Russian Football Day in May 2027. This was reported by the press service of the RFU.

Festive events in 31 regions of Russia will be held on May 22 and 23. The total number of participants and guests of the Football Day may exceed 200 thousand people. Within five years, the festival should become the largest nationwide sports festival in Russia.

We hope that the All-Russian Football Day will become one of the most popular sports holidays in the country. By analogy with Ski Russia, football festivals will be held throughout the country. We plan to attract about 3 million direct participants, and the total audience, including viewers, TV viewers and readers of news resources, can reach at least 60 million people, said Maxim Mitrofanov, Secretary General of the RFU.

In 2024, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring 25 May World Football Day. The document highlights the global social impact of football and its impact on peace and diplomacy.

In 2027, the Russian Sports Fund will provide additional financial support to the RFU for the implementation of events on the occasion of the All-Russian Football Day following the results of the competitive selection. Earlier, the Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev reported about this within the framework of the forum “Russia is a sports power”, the amount is 250 million rubles.
