Alexander Ovechkin is one step away from conquering the rarest achievement

Domestic striker of the team “Washington Capitals” Alexander Ovechkin recorded on his account the effective pass during the meeting of the regular championship of the NHL with the club “New Jersey Devils”, which ended with the victory of his team with the score 4: 2. Thanks to this, the player got as close as possible to the title of the best scorer in the history of the Capitals on the combination of three indicators at once - abandoned goals, assists and total scores.

This goal pass was the 761st for the athlete in the regular seasons. For comparison, the current leader of the club Niklas Beckström has 762 assists. At the same time, according to the total number of goals scored (930) and points scored (1691), our compatriot already confidently holds the first line.

According to the official Internet portal of the NHL, if successful, Alexander Ovechkin will be among only four hockey players born outside of North America, who managed to lead the club ratings in three of these statistical categories. Before him, a similar result was achieved by the Finn Alexander Barkov of the Florida Panthers, the Czech Patrick Elias of the New Jersey Devils and the Swede Daniel Alfredsson, who spoke for the Ottawa Senators.
