Boxer from the Volgograd region became the second in the all-Russian tournament in Voronezh

Volgograd Junior made it to the final of the prestigious all-Russian boxing tournament, losing only to last year’s finalist of the championship of Russia.
In Voronezh from 12 to 17 October thundered rings “Governor’s Cup of the Voronezh region”. The tournament dedicated to the heroes of the SVO gathered more than 200 promising boxers from different parts of the country. The honor of the Volgograd region was defended by Maxim Shcherbakov, acting in weight up to 54 kg.
The path to the final for our countryman turned out to be bright and convincing. The starting match against the representative of the Vladimir region Maxim won by unanimous decision of the arbitrators.
In the second fight, he left no chance to the opponent from the Ulyanovsk region, issuing an early victory. The semifinal fight with a boxer from Tatarstan also ended with the triumph of Volgograd on points.
In the decisive battle for gold, Shcherbakov was confronted by a serious opponent from the Ryazan region, who has experience in the final of the championship of Russia. The fight turned out to be stubborn, but according to the results of the rounds, the judges preferred the opponent.
