HC Siberia decided to get rid of Taylor Beck and Fedor Gordeev
Novosibirsk hockey club "Siberia" placed striker Taylor Beck and defender Fedor Gordeev in the list of refusals of the KHL
According to him, after the match, a conversation took place with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Siberia Andrey Travnikov about the team’s results and its position in the current season. The management agreed on personnel changes that should help find hockey players who can lead the team.
Krutokhvostov noted that the reason for the uncertain start of the season was including the game of athletes, from whom the coaching staff expected leadership qualities. According to the management, they do not yet demonstrate the necessary attitude to the case and do not meet the expectations of the team and fans.
“I consider one of the reasons for the uncertain start of the season, this is just the game of those guys we counted on, those who should lead!”.
Putting hockey players on the waivers list will also free up funds on the payroll. As Krutokhvostov specified, the club intends to send them to search for new players.
The reasons for breaking up with Beck and Gordeev vary. Defender Gordeev stopped getting into the squad at the beginning of pre-season training and, according to the head, failed to regain his place in the team, losing competition to other defense players.
From striker Beck coaching staff, by contrast, initially expected a lot. He was counted on as one of the leaders, especially when playing in the majority. However, as Krutokhvostov explained, the hockey player played only 11 matches out of 17, and his physical condition and interaction with other players did not allow him to fulfill his expectations. At the same time, forward Anton Kosolapov retained a place in the team to complete the attacks.
The leadership of Siberia believes that personnel decisions are a necessary step to form a younger and more ambitious team. Krutokhvostov called them radical, but stressed that the club intends to change the squad to achieve a more confident game.
Earlier, MK in Novosibirsk reported that Siberia lost to Barys at home after the canceled goal.
