Kostroma held the opening ceremony of the All-Russian competitions in gymnastics

The press service of the city administration of Kostroma reports that on October 14 in our city in sports school No. 1 the opening ceremony of the All-Russian competitions in gymnastics "Golden Ring of Russia" for the prizes of Olympic champion Elena Shevchenko was held.

It is a great honor for our city to host the tournament, which brought together more than 300 participants from 19 cities of the country. Competitions, during which the participants of the tournament will play 42 sets of awards, will be held at our sports school No. 1 until October 17.

At the opening ceremony of the competition, in addition to the athletes themselves and their coaches, representatives of the Federal Assembly, the Ministry of Sports, multiple Olympic champions, heroic military personnel were present.

The Mayor of Kostroma Oleg Bolokhovets, who was a track and field athlete in the past, highly appreciated the children and girls who chose gymnastics classes and separately thanked the organizer of the competition - Elena Shevchenko:

Olympic gold is the pinnacle for any athlete. But it is even more valuable when, after the end of his career, the champion continues to pass on the skill and love of sports to new generations.
