Former UFC light heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev said that he would not like to take a fight with compatriot Alexander Volkov, who is second in the UFC ranking in heavyweight. He said this in an interview on the YouTube channel Bostanov MMA.
According to Ankalaev, such a fight is possible only if the championship belt is at stake. At the same time, he admitted that Volkov is the only one with whom he would not want to go to the octagon in heavyweight, because he did a lot for him. In particular, during training in America, Volkov came to sparring and imitated his rivals, which seriously helped.
The Dagestani added that if the fight was inevitable, he would leave, but if he had a choice, he would prefer another opponent - not a Russian.
Ankalaev is 34. In his professional career, 22 wins, one draw and two defeats, another fight was declared invalid.
