About 4 thousand residents of the Kaliningrad region joined the march
In Kaliningrad and municipalities, schoolchildren, families and the older generation came to the start. In the regional center, a distance of 8 km was overcome by 1.7 thousand people, in the districts - more than 2 thousand. Participants were also offered a free medical examination.

About four thousand residents of the Kaliningrad region came out on October 16 to the All-Russian action “10,000 steps to life”, held under the motto “Keep the rhythm!”. A large-scale sporting event covered both the regional center and all municipalities of the region, the regional Ministry of Health reported.
As noted by the Minister of Health Sergey Dmitriev, the main task of the project is to popularize walking as the most affordable and natural way to improve health. The campaign has been held throughout the country since 2015 as part of the national project “Long and active life”.
Fans of outdoor activities went on routes in parks, squares and coastal promenades. In Kaliningrad, the main point of attraction has traditionally become the Friedland Gate. The initiative was joined by schoolchildren, pupils of sports schools, families with children and the older generation. Before the start, professional athletes held a dynamic warm-up for the participants.
In addition to hiking routes, free express inspections were organized for citizens: doctors measured blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
In the regional center, the distance of 8 kilometers was overcome by about 1.7 thousand people, and in the regions - more than 2 thousand. All the participants who overpowered the cherished norm received commemorative signs. Many went to the start with whole families - for example, a large family from Chernyakhovsk went the entire distance in full strength.
Earlier, “MK in the Kaliningrad region” reported that Andrei Luzin for the eighth time became the champion of Russia in kyokusinkai.
