"Looking forward to the first talk " Gnizditsky on signing a contract with the UFC

Recently it became known that the undefeated Russian fighter of mixed style Ivan Gnizditsky signed a contract with the largest MMA promotion UFC. The athlete shared the details of what happened in an interview with the editor of MK-Sport, and also revealed some details of cooperation with the league.

As far as I know, you couldn't make it to Dana White's Candidate Show because of visa issues, right?

Yeah, that's right. In 2025, I was supposed to compete in the Candidate Series, but was refused a visa.

- How long were negotiations with the league and why did you sign to bypass the qualifying tournament? Why don't you give me some details about the contract?

In 2026, I got a second chance to do the show. I prepared all the documents that were missing last year, but this did not help, the visa was refused again. But from the moment of receiving a second chance to speak on the applicant series, negotiations began. Why did you sign? I think it is worth celebrating the work of my managers and, of course, thank God, without his will this would not have happened! As for the contract, it is designed for four fights. The rest of the details will remain confidential, but I can say that I am pleased with the conditions and look forward to the first performance.

It is reported that we may see your debut promotion in December. Do you know when you will have your first fight? What do you think of the opponent? Are there any fighters who would like to share the Octagon with at the start and in the future?

Yes, the debut is scheduled for Dec. I can’t name a rival yet, the organization will announce it. As for the opponent, there are a couple of tops with which I would like to test my strength. But it is not for me to choose who the matchmakers want to see the fight with, and I will go out. In the future, I am interested in the strongest fighters of the division. I'm ready to fight anyone I ask.

Share your impressions of what is happening. What goals do you set for this stage in your career?

Of course, I'm very happy and happy. This is what millions of fighters around the world are striving for. I thank God for giving me this opportunity. As for the goals - to continue to develop, show bright fights and glorify their country in the international arena.

On account of Ivan Gnizditsky 7 victories and no defeat. The last match the Russian athlete held in may last year at the tournament One Friday Fights 110 against Khurshid Bozorboev. In this confrontation, Gnizditsky won by technical knockout in the first round.

SportsFlag returned, visas were not given: how the Netherlands deprive Russian gymnasts of the Olympics-2028

On October 9, a truly absurd and tense situation developed in Russian sports. On the one hand, the international federations are lifting discriminatory restrictions one by one. On the other hand, host countries are finding ways to keep our athletes out of competitions using a banal bureaucracy. A good example is the Russian gymnastics team, which right now risks losing its chance at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
